Another Stretch Goal, an Interview and a Gameplay’d Live

In this update:
- Gameplye'd 'Live' (or at least for the first part) – A first look at the opening chapter of book 2 - Crown & Tower.
- Instadeath Survivors have a podcast – Oliver is interviewed by the Gamebook aficionado and podcast host Brain Hazzard.
- Another Stretch Goal reached and some gratuitous art
Game review guru Becca and team over at Good Time Society took a first look and run through the opening of Crown & Tower.
Becca took on the mantle of the mighty Ti’Quon, Jake tanked up to become the indomitable Sar Jessica Dayne, Anthony buckled the swash and sought revenge with Tasha and Whitney brought the swagger with Brash, ‘to chew bubble gum or kick ass’. (you’ll get it when you watch)
Just remember the mantra ‘don’t split the party’ …
…but if you have to, remember the equally wise words ‘never enter a burning building’.

Having seen the excitement building for this campaign over the last few months, we knew we had a few champions looking to get stuck into the world of Legendary Kingdoms, but funded in nine minutes blew us away!

Thank you for backing the project, for being as excited in embracing this gamebook series as we have been in creating it, and thank you for helping revive a genre that has long needed a resurgence.
House Dayne, House Ross and House Bailey
In this update:
- Stretch Goals – we release the first few stretch goals and discuss what we are looking at for some of the others.
- Add Ons – we have some ideas for add ons for this campaign as well as plans for the next book in the series.
- An announcement of a live play through of the introduction of Book 2
- Legendary Kingdoms Online (or Stories) (or Death Rites) – we ask for help in choosing a name for a new ongoing, chose your own adventure series we will be running on the LK Facebook page.
We have added the first three of a possible eight stretch goals but we are always open to suggestions.
Robin Smith
The ridiculously talented Mr Smith has agreed to supply us with more of his gorgeous art and so Oliver has put together a wish list of gorgeousness which we would love to get into the book.
NewAdventures
For those who are not satisfied with a completely sandbox adventure book with over 900 references, these stretch goals are for you. Lets ram this book full of more incredible missions and quests.
Comingsoon...Dust Covers
Following a great suggestion in the comments we are currently working on adding dust covers for the collectors editions and will be posting up our results and adding them to stretch goals very soon.
Adult Colouring Books
Another fun suggestion we have received is to create a collection of adult colouring books based on Robin's artwork. These books, one for each edition of Legendary Kingdoms, would contain as many of the pieces of art that Robin has produced as we could fit in and would be available as a paid for add-on. Please let us know in the comments if this is something you would like to see more of.
Dice, T-Shirts, Cloth Maps and Collectables
We also hear the requests for other accoutrements to enhance the adventure, such as large scale maps and dice. We are keen to include all of these but we will not be doing so in this campaign and for a couple of reasons.
We began this Kickstarter with one aim in mind and that was to created a multilayered, open world adventure that suited today's gaming expectations but contained some of the magic from the Fighting Fantasy and Lone Wolf adventures. We are sticking to that by introducing the book in three formats, collectors, softback and pdf. In future campaigns we can expand the collection and we already have an 'adventurer's pack' in the works for book 3 - Pirates of the Splintered Isles. This will contain a choice of dice for each book as well as a bundle of other LK goodies. For this campaign we will keep the load light and celebrate the books.
The second, and much more practical reason is that in a world of supply chain difficulties, adding further moving parts to the campaign runs the very real risk of adding delays. Our current plan is to print the books for Europe and the UK in Europe and the ones for North America and the rest of the world in the US or Canada. No requirement for anything to travel by sea and everything being made closer to home.
A Playthrough Exclusive
Our friends Jake and Becca, from Good Time Society will be livestreaming one of their Gameplay'd Live sessions, with a playthrough of Legendary Kingdoms. This will air on Saturday 27th March @ 1pm PST.
First Look at Crown & Tower
The playthrough will be the opening chapter of Book 2 - Crown & Tower - where the adventurers arrive into the harbour of the city of Longport to be thrown straight into the middle of a riot. We cannot wait to see how they will fare.
Many of you would have experienced the Valley of Bones, by playing though Book 1 of our free sample adventure, but this will be the first public look at any content from Book 2 - Crown and Tower.

As this is very possibly going to become a stretch goal, perhaps this should have been above, but it is such a good idea we wanted it to have its own section.
So, Oliver, author of Legendary Kingdoms, has had an idea and the rest of the Spidermind Games team think it is awesome, but will you?
Now that we have a very healthy Legendary Kingdoms facebook clan on our private group page, how about playing Legendary Kingdoms through our facebook group? The plan being that Oliver will create a unique adventure that will update on Facebook every week. Players worldwide will help in designing party members, and will jointly decide what actions to take that week via Facebook polls.
If the new party members prove popular then there is always a chance that they may well appear in future titles of the Legendary Kingdoms series.
Then there is the name that we will give this idea:
